About John Moores Foundation

We are a responsive funder and would like to help groups achieve their targets and outcomes in their own way. If a group receives a grant from the Foundation, additional support may be offered to the group by our Community Groups Development Worker in areas such as fundraising, strategic planning and trustee development and by our Monitoring & Evaluation Worker to set up systems and provide feeedback that best meet their needs, capacity, etc.

040 Cookstown

040 Cookstown Ltd provides a range of services to the local community which include a ‘One Stop Shop’ information centre & signposting, interactive activity programme, a Luncheon Club and meals on wheels delivery service., they also provide a range of classes each day at the centre including arts and Crafts, knitting and health projects. JMF gave £5,000 towards tutor costs, volunteer costs, electric and heating.

Gemma McHale Foundation

The Gemma Mc Hale Foundation is located in Castlederg. Their main aim is to provide resources for the mental health and well-being of children and young people. They are piloting a ‘Bereavement Support Service’ for people from all religious divides, nationalities and genders. £5,000 was given for a Bereavement Support Service.

Heart4Refugees

Heart4Refugees was founded to support Syrian refugees who had arrived in Wirral via the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS). The CIC’s services are designed to help refugees & asylum seekers fully integrate into community, helping them to build new, successful lives and relationships. £18,720 was given over three years for a Drop-in Centre.

Netherton Park Community Association

Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre is a safe and fun place to learn, play and socialise. The community comes together as one, accessing a range of different support programmes and activities for adults and youth, including Bingo, Fitness Classes, Walking Club, Coffee Morning and lots of other projects. £26,000 was given over three years for salary costs of the Family Intervention Worker.

Shrewsbury House

Shrewsbury House is a Youth Club in Everton, Liverpool.  Founded in 1903, it is known locally as the Shewsy and widely recognised for its open-access and a full programme of activities. £17,500 was given over three years towards the salary of the Deputy Team Leader.
